Solunet Delivers Integrated Technology Solutions
Solunet was founded in 1992 to address the communication equipment needs of the emerging “dial-up” Internet Service Providers. As the market for telecommunications equipment expanded, Solunet’s product portfolio grew to include core network, wireless and optical next generation technology product solutions. During 1999, Solunet opened several regional offices throughout the US and expanded the scope of the company with the formation of a specialized technical services group to provide customers with technical consulting, network design, implementation, project management and post-sales support services.
By 2000, Solunet’s customer base grew to include more than two-thirds of the Service Providers including independent Telco’s, competitive local exchange carriers (“CLEC’s”), emerging carriers and enterprises
within the US, Canada and CALA. |

Solunet weathered a critical downturn in the business cycle by restructuring operations in 2002, without any impact on customer service delivery (CSD). Through the investment of significant working capital by Sun Capital Partners, Inc. and the hire of a new CEO, Solunet refocused and restructured both the sales force and the “myriad” of vendor relationships.
Through select key partnerships with the telecommunication industry’s most innovative manufacturers, and a strategy that focuses on providing “best of breed” solutions limited to four practice areas -- Core Network Elements, Wireless Internet, Security, Voice Over IP (VoIP) -- Solunet experienced approximately a 20% growth in the workforce and revenues.
Continued growth in 2004 resulted in the need for new facilities, so in April 2005 Solunet relocated the corporate headquarters to West Melbourne, Florida. The facility includes an interoperability laboratory, enabling Solunet to provide customers with proof of concept services as well as a training center where customers can obtain dedicated, in-depth technical training.
Solunet has been significantly streamlined to enhance response times and to make the company more adept at responding rapidly to market changes and opportunities. A flexible operating strategy built around wide and deep customer relationships with a small cadre of superior products and services is the Solunet key guiding principle.
